Phoebe Rose SandfordJoined mishiDance in 2012
Phoebe Rose Sandford is a modern dancer, choreographer, and singer with a background in classical ballet. As a young ballet dancer she trained with Risa Kaplowitz and Susan Jaffe at Princeton Dance and Theater Studio. She received her BFA with Honors from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. In 2010, Phoebe was lucky enough to participate in the Trisha Brown Dance Company's fortieth anniversary installation at the Whitney Museum, Off the Wall: Part 2: Seven Works by Trisha Brown, where she performed the iconic performance art piece Floor of the Forest. Phoebe was a founding member of RedCurrant Collective, and in addition to co-managing, dancing, and choreographing for the collective, she has performed with Anne Zuerner, MoveWorks, Alice Gosti, Jonathan Matthews, The Charles Weidman Foundation, Patricia Hoffbauer, and AMS Project. Theatre credits include Where Have All the Glaciers Gone? with Erin Mee, Versailles 2015 with This Is Not a Theatre Company, Far Away at the Schapiro Theater, and The Bride Project (reading) with Lonesome George. She was the choreographer and co-director for A Presentation by the People of Lake Victory for Our Leader at The Gym at Judson and choreographer for Loud Mouth with Rebel Playhouse. Phoebe is the director of Copy That Dance, a modern dance company formed in 2016. |
